Gers Qualify for Quarter Final Of ACC Cup
Two wins out of three is a great start to the year for the return back to Senior in the ACC Cup. Wins of the O'Mahonys two weeks ago and Oliver Plunketts yesterday (19th March) in Drogheda made up for the loss to Cooley. An impressive scoreline of 4-7 to 2-4 will keep morale high with Ed Smyth, Barry Renaghan and two from Liam O'Byrne all the goalscorers. Colin Lynch, Nicky Mackin, Emmett Duffy John Lynch and John Pepper were among others to impress against the Plunketts.
The Gers now face the Clan Na Gael in the Quarter Final which will probably take place in Dundalk on Friday 7th April.
Senior Championship 2006 Draw Made
The Draw for the senior championship 2006 was made last week and the Gers have been handed a good draw. They are draw with fellow promoted team Sean O'Mahonys, Naomh Martin and Cooley Kickhams. With the first group game against the O'Mahonys, this is sure to be a massive game to decide how the rest of the group goes.
Having already beaten the O'Mahonys this season in the ACC cup the gers will be confident going into this game. The heavy loss suffered against Cooley wont be looking into to much as the Gers were heavily under strength, while the opening league against Naomh Martins will tell alot.
First ACC Cup Game against Cooley
The Geraldine's are thrown straight in at the deep end in Senior Football this year with their first game against Cooley in the ACC Cup. The Game is on in Cooley on Sunday 26th of February and all supporters are welcome.
